eZ publish 3 is both an open source content management system (CMS) and a development framework (CMF).
With eZ publish you can set up all kinds of websites like webshops, intranets, Image galleries and Forums or you can create your own CMS system with the framework.
You can base your website development on one of the CMS solutions, or directly on the Framework. Both ways are possible from the eZ publish distribution.
