Freshmeat page: http://freshmeat.net/projects/dietlibc/
Notes: This project tries to create a very small libc for embedded systems (and for people who dislike all the bloat found on modern Linux distributions). The diet libc supports alpha, arm, mips, ppc, sparc and x86 based Linux, is cross- compiler friendly, has the system calls and lots of support crap needed to link today's bloat software.
In contrast to what the uClibc project page says about us, we do try to conform to standards. However, when we have the choice to import large and potentially bloated code or to write it ourselves, we do write it ourselves. We were able to link BusyBox, too (and openssl and openssh)!

FOAF updates: Trust rankings are now exported, making the data available to other users and websites. An external FOAF URI has been added, allowing users to link to an additional FOAF file.
