XPLC is a component system that tries to enable the use of components in a pervasive way. Among the strategies used to further this goal:

Basically, the idea is to leave no excuse for an application not to be component-enabled (being a component and/or using components). There is an article on Advogato detailing and discussing the design of XPLC. This article, while actually about COM, contains a lot of stuff that applies to XPLC.

New Advogato Features

New HTML Parser: The long-awaited libxml2 based HTML parser code is live. It needs further work but already handles most markup better than the original parser.
