Notes: Tuxfamily.org (AKA TF) is an hosting project, Free Software oriented. It was created two years ago to help people who wanted a web space, dns management, mail, ... As more and more users joined, TF developped a real hosting architecture and was open to the public in june 2000. As of today more than 650 projects are hosted by TF and the range of services is growing. We expand our hardware and have an average bandwidth usage of 1,2Mb/s. In the beginning TF was oriented toward french speaking people but we now want to offer our services all around the world. The TF team is working on a new hosting engine called vhffs[2]. It provides some functionalities that are still lacking (dyndns, shell, ...). The most interesting part of vhffs is the packaging. Because most of the developpers involved in vhffs are experienced in packaging and system administration, they decided to create some Debian packages that would install and configure the complete set of services needed to run TF
