Notes:
Samba provides File, Print and Login services for Windows. Appearing in your Network Neighbourhood, it provides access to Unix Servers with no modifications to Windows clients, including Windows 95, 98, NT and 2000.
The 2.0.x tree can now be joined to a Windows NT 4.0 Domain, and also itself provides skeleton Primary Domain Controller functionality.
The latest development branch provides full Primary Domain Controller and Domain member functionality, with Backup Domain Controller and Inter-Domain Trust relationships on the way.
There is also a full set of command-line tools, such as samedit, regedit, eventlog, cmdat, svccontrol etc, capable of administering both Windows NT and Samba.
