The OpenClipart.org project has the goal of creating a free archive of clip art that can be used with all software be it free software or closed software, distributed with various software distributions. OpenClipart.org artwork is entirely in the Public Domain so that it can be used Royalty Free by artists of all abilities in graphic design compositions.

OpenClipart.org uses the Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) standard as it's primary file format. It is intended to promote the use of SVG and to help users of Open Source vector graphics applications such as Sodipodi and Inkscape
