Notes:

The NewsGrabber Perl module helps in grabbing backend news from remote sites to use in your personal website. To prevent use of stale news, the module has the ability to set the life of the news fetched from each site and new files are fetched when staleness is detected. Currently the module has the ability to grab news from 25 sites, including Slashdot, Freshmeat, Linux.com, Icewalkers.Com, Newsforge.org and Packetstorm.

Once these headlines are grabbed, they are displayed as dynamically generated HTML pages, which can be customized using templates.

New Advogato Features

New HTML Parser: The long-awaited libxml2 based HTML parser code is live. It needs further work but already handles most markup better than the original parser.

Keep up with the latest Advogato features by reading the Advogato status blog.
