Moodle is an acronym for Modular Object-Oriented Dynamic Learning Environment. It's a software package for producing Internet-based educational courses and Web sites. It offers an alternative to commercial software such as WebCT and Blackboard. Moodle has been designed as part of a PhD research project to support a social constructionist theory of education.
