Notes:

As it says on our front page, MegaMek is an unofficial, online version of the Classic BattleTech boardgame. It's written in Java, and will run in a v1.1 VM (when the bundled JAR files are included in the CLASSPATH).

Those of you familiar with CBT may be excited to know that MegaMek is attempting to be 100% compliant with the BattleTech Master Rulebook (revised), with errata and "clarifications" from Randall Bills. We've nearly completed implementing all the rules, and we could be finished by the end of the year with a bit of help.

Please note, MegaMek is not a glorified first- or third-person shooter using robots instead of people. It is a faithful implementation of the CBT rules that haven't changes substantially since BattleTech was first released in 1984.

New HTML Parser: The long-awaited libxml2 based HTML parser code is live. It needs further work but already handles most markup better than the original parser.

Keep up with the latest Advogato features by reading the Advogato status blog.
