Notes: A distribution of only GTK+ and GNOME software, Ximian GNOME provides easy-to-use packages for a good (and increasing) variety of Linux distributions. In addition to the latest software, the distribution has an easy-to-use installation program and an update application that allows users to keep their Ximian GNOME desktop up-to-date.
Ximian GNOME was originally named Helix GNOME but it was change to avoid any confusion with an existing company. (The Helix brand name was later aquired by Real.)
Ximian was purchased by Novell.

License: Most software is GPL or LGPL
