Notes: GNU Paint, or gpaint, is an easy-to-use program for Gnome, the GNU Desktop. It aims to be simple and easy to use application for flat raster graphics and does not try to compete with the GNU Image Manipulation Program by supporting more complex multi-layer images.
Gpaint started as a port of xpaint to Gnome, but supports a user interface in line with the Gnome Human Interface Guidelines. It is part of the GNU Project and aims to accelerate the entry of GNU into end user applications, part of the software world where GNU has few presences so far.
