In practice, this isn't much of a problem, I have built and deployed a trouble ticket management system (alas, proprietary) and a basic CRM system (also, alas, proprietary). Most of the development of those was writing HTML and CGI-glue for the back-end.

New HTML Parser: The long-awaited libxml2 based HTML parser code is live. It needs further work but already handles most markup better than the original parser.
