Notes:

Abiword is a fast, light, cross toolkit and cross-platform word processor. It was started by SourceGear, Inc., which is now actively being developed by the free software community. AbiWord is part of Gnome Office. Abiword is written in C++ and is available on many platforms and has been translated into many different languages.
Abiword is similar in appearance to Microsoft Word. To make it easier for users to migrate to Abiword the developers have made a conscious effort to do things the same as Microsoft Word or better whenever possible.
