I occasionally write code, but I'm not a programmer. I'm head of Web site development for Morris Communications, a diversified media company based in Augusta, Ga. I'm a journalist; former positions include executive editor of Cox Interactive Media in Atlanta (1999-2000) and founding editor of startribune.com in Minneapolis (1994-1999). Before the net I had a life as a news editor and reporter in Minneapolis, St. Louis, Champaign and southern Illinois.
Over the years I've written some utilities in C and PHP, including http://prattle.sourceforge.net/.

New HTML Parser: The long-awaited libxml2 based HTML parser code is live. It needs further work but already handles most markup better than the original parser.
