Got a really cool minidisc recorder/player
for Christmas. It connects up to the computer using usb and
looks just like a normal usb audio device so you can play
music to it and record stuff that way.

It's damn cool. And I've been wanting a minidisc player
for ages.

Heh heh heh.

We finally got some nerf weaponry in the office and there
have been a few skirmishes so far.

We need to get a few more people involved though, so we
can have some nice big battles.

The problem turned out to be the lack of any sort of
warning or error messages from anaconda.

I'd been testing an ftp server while in my cvs tree and
accidentally ended up with a copy of libtermcap.so in one of
my rpms and rpm had decided to list that as something my
package was providing.

So when anaconda ran into the circular dependancy, it
didn't bother to complain at all and just installed
everything in alphabetic order.

Lame.

I hate anaconda.

What I did was--

took a known good iso

replaced a few WireX specific packages

ran genhdlist

built a new iso

burned it

And the installer has suddenly decided that
interdependencies don't matter and installing everything
in _alphabetic order_ is the way to go.

ARGH.

For the last few months, I've been obsessing about
getting a motorcycle.

In the back of my mind, I've always wanted one, but only
lately have I let it escape more.

My current plan is to wait until spring, take the MSF RiderCourse, and get
a 1994+ Kawasaki Ninja
250 or 500.

Eventually, I'd like to move up to something a little larger.

At that point, instead of just selling it, I'd convert
the Ninja to be a race bike and take it out to PIR for track
day every once in a while.

So my big dilemma is whether to get the 250 or the 500.

The reason I'd get the 250 over the 500 is because
there's an AMA racing class just for 250's and that would be
a hell of a lot of fun.

Hmm.

Finally got around to setting up an account.

Hopefully, I'll remember to add diary entries with at
least a little regularity...
