echolot 2.0 was finally released several months ago (soon after my last diary entry) and is now in Debian, as is Mixmaster which finally got a free license thanks to Lance Cotrell and Len Sassamn.
New HTML Parser: The long-awaited libxml2 based HTML parser code is live. It needs further work but already handles most markup better than the original parser.
