It would be extremely nice if whoever administers advogato can assist me in removing my old accout, "vlg". Please, drop me a note and let me know how it can be done. My e-mail: vlg@users.sourceforge.net. Thanks.

Finally, after almost a year of heavy development my new program, Granule, has reached comfortable stability. Today's release, 1.1.3, has implemented all of the features I originally planned to have.

The idea to write a flashcard program of some sort came to me when my own collection of flashcards had grown to the point that I had to throw some of them away. One day I thought - there is no way I can systematically go through all of them and wouldn't it be nice to have them all in a program of some sort.

I started searching for a Linux version - but whatever I found either required Java or KDE or has not all features I wanted. One day, browsing the web I came across VTrain - a freeware program for Windows. Reading through its documentation, I realized that it was functionally what I wanted (minus the ugly Windoz interface). I made some sketchy design notes on a napkin and hid it in a folder.

January 1st 2004 came with insane amount of snow here in Maryland and nothing else to do, I got my napkin out and laid out the scheleton for the project along with the main window. The rest is the history.

Weh, I lost my 'vlg' account password and could not get in touch with advogato's maintainer. That's odd! Here it goes - my mini me - vlg2.

New Advogato Features

New HTML Parser: The long-awaited libxml2 based HTML parser code is live. It needs further work but already handles most markup better than the original parser.

Keep up with the latest Advogato features by reading the Advogato status blog.

If you're a C programmer with some spare time, take a look at the mod_virgule project page and help us with one of the tasks on the ToDo list!
