Recent blog entries for tgr

Well, my first diary entry. I used to write a diary before, but it got lost in a disk crash. Yes I know, I could restore it from archive.org, but I do not feel like it. Maybe I want to forget parts of that period ;)

I'm currently working on iacd, an IRC Server written from scratch with my own ideas and principles about IRC. All channels are modeless and all users are able to KILL each other (You can disable this if you want ;). I changed the network structure from tree to something more chaotic. It's possible to provide multiple ways for messages to reach other servers. iacd is still in alpha stage and some stuff, especially server linking, is still unstable or may not work. Anyhow, it's fun to write on it and to implement stuff I always wanted to have like a history of topic changes.

If you plan to use iacd I would be happy if you could drop me a line. I'm curious if somebody else is using it besides me ;)

I try to contribute to other projects as time permits. I didn't say I'm short of time. I just invest it for other stuff at the moment.

New Advogato Features

New HTML Parser: The long-awaited libxml2 based HTML parser code is live. It needs further work but already handles most markup better than the original parser.

Keep up with the latest Advogato features by reading the Advogato status blog.
