Hey all! I had finished creating a patch for freebsd's syslogd to support logging into a mysql table. I am now waiting for freshmeat to aproove it, and than I will post it here. :)

Uh.. I just got out of the shower, and while shaving I thought about an idea for a new project :) I decided that syslogd logging can be very nice, and perhaps useful (Didn`t yet had the time to really think about it) even more, if I will be able to log specific events into a MySQL table. I know I will probably use it, so why not making it.. Maybe someone else would find some intrest in it.

I will try coding a patch for FreeBSD's syslogd version to support connecting to a mysql server this weekend. Once I will finish it, i'll post it.

This is my first diary entry :) I just registered, so here is some information about me: My name is Eran. I deal mostly with C development under FreeBSD and OpenBSD (I'm a BSD freak).. I enjoy developing in C, especially daemons and kernel modules.

Soon I will post a project called rdns - a project that supplys access control facilities for nameservers. More details will come as soon as I finish writing the documentation for it.
