Notes:
Former XEmacs developer (full-time for about a year). Long-time UNIX-lover, Linux advocate and Microsoft-hater (now more moderate). Typing problems forced me into the windows world where I can use NaturallySpeaking, which sucks but sucks less than not being able to type. The last four Linux installations I've done have all had unexcusable problems. A willy-nilly upgrade of redhat 5.2 worked fine with my xircom pcmcia ethernet/modem card, but debian, mandrake, and caldera all failed to deal with it properly...caldera installed a broken LILO, too. Redhat 6.0 had ppp problems when I installed it on my mother's computer...even when I downloaded the updated kernel and installed that... This sort of thing turns advocacy into apology and I'm sick of it. Where the hell is USB support? I'll put linux back on my notebook when it's got USB and so does VMware...regrettably, i'm stuck using windows...which at least works... windows supplemented with xemacs + cygwin + zope if it makes you zealots feel any better... -- Stig

New HTML Parser: The long-awaited libxml2 based HTML parser code is live. It needs further work but already handles most markup better than the original parser.
