Older blog entries for stevegt (starting at number 3)

Long time since posting... Joyce and I have been in China, and since we got back we've been working on a little startup. Details soon...

Thinking about maybe switching a *wiki variant in for the infrastructures.org homepage. Or maybe I should just base from the Advogato code... Or maybe, no, wait, could this be an actual excuse to actually start coding on patchballot?

Cranking in MySQL 3.22.32, to support OpenFlock...

Walking Joyce through UNIX boot sequence, signals, and process I/O...

Kinda like bk2site -- might add that into stevegt.com.

fusionOne.com seems to work -- hasn't blown up Joyce's or my pilots in any unexpected ways yet (blew up mine today in an entirely expected way though -- gotta avoid creating loops of hotsync'ed devices)... ;-)

Finally finished resurrecting our robot/amanda backup system here at home. Ahhhh... That feels better.

Been poking around for a while to see what it would take to put together a web-based shared calendar/project/todo/bug tracker that will sync with the palm datebook. (Not that I'm demanding or anything.) ;-)

Looking at dsifry's OpenFlock -- looks like he's headed the right direction. Must play. Hmmm...

Glad to have found Advogato -- the model bears a strong resemblance to parts of an idea that's been struggling to get out of my head for the last 10 years or so; some of you have heard parts of it over dinner after SVLUG meetings. I'm real interested to see how the Advogato community develops.

In the meantime, I've posted a couple of my existing projects -- IPC::Session and Infrastructures.Org.

New Advogato Features

New HTML Parser: The long-awaited libxml2 based HTML parser code is live. It needs further work but already handles most markup better than the original parser.

Keep up with the latest Advogato features by reading the Advogato status blog.
