Since this is my first post here, I thought a little presentation of myself would be nice.
I've been reading diaries here for quite some time now (maybe a year) but never created an account since I've blogged in swedish elsewere.
I'm a 21 year old compsci student living in Sweden and I'm your classic punkrock übergeek. I started programming at age 9 when my stepfather got an old C64, but even though I've went from BASIC to Pascal to C++ with good grades in high school programming classes I've been too lazy to build anything bigger than an ugly frogger-clone for DOS.
I started using free software in 1999 when I installed RedHat on an old P66 that was the result of begging and dumpster diving. Today I run debian on a Celeron 433 (the 17 inch screen, 10/100mbit NIC, keyboard-with-nice-extra-buttons, 40x cd drive, 9 gb hd and hp laserjet connected to this computer are all from dumpsters).
The only good things I've done for the free software community is a translation of an old sylpheed FAQ, some very minor translations for blackbox, some bug reports and a little newbie handholding.
btw, my english is really bad.
yeah. and now the true reason this is the day I got an account:

Which "C by example" are you speaking about? I found two different at my local online bookshop; One by Perry and one by Kalicharan. Since the first one is cheaper I hope that's the one. ;)
