This is a test of the Gnome Blog Applet

Now that my school term is over I can finally get some quality time in with my directed study, a.k.a. my Gnuplot frontend. The C++ wrappers for gnuplot are coming along. They may not be super efficient, but they are easy to automate which is what I need for the GUI. I started doing some real work on the GUI, and I'm finally getting up to speed with Gtkmm and Gnomemm. The folks on irc have been helpful with my Gtkmm problems. Unfortunately, work must quit until after I return back from visiting relatives for the Holidays.

I started my training at the Motherlode today. Jess showed me how to make most of the drinks ( I didn't actually practice making them yet ). I need a lot of practice frothing for cappacino's. I made a sandwich, took out the recyclables and did some general sweeping up.

I put about 4 hours into organic chem, and starting figuring out how to synthesize things using Malonic esters.

To relax before bed I booted into Windows to play with SharpDevelop and do some C sharping. Nonetheless I'm really impressed, both with C#/.NET and SharpDevelop, it's pretty tight. I can't wait till Windows.Forms support is in Mono so we can use it in *nix.

It's amazing how much you can get done in a day when you don't have to go to work. I woke up today and went to the rec room for an hour. Then I went to my last organic chemistry lab for the summer, to a local coffee shop to study for 4 hours, ran 7 miles and back to the coffee shop to close it out.

I got a little time today to look at some websites so I can start redesiging my homepage and various software project pages. I took a litte time to work on Botslide. I only have 2 more weeks of Organic Chem 2 left. During the break week I should be able to get Botslide finished and update it's webpage. After that I can continue work on my Gnuplot GUI. I'm only taking 12 credits this fall, and it's 3 of them.

I also got a little mandolin time in today.

New Advogato Features

New HTML Parser: The long-awaited libxml2 based HTML parser code is live. It needs further work but already handles most markup better than the original parser.

Keep up with the latest Advogato features by reading the Advogato status blog.
