Linuxcare Europe finally closes door and I get to work to
try and make sure that all my former colleagues are able to
secure paying work as soon as possible. Confusion and panic
reigns supreme and the usual gutter level IT journalists
creep out of the woodwork.

Spoke to some of my former colleagues at LC in 650 Townsend
and they are relaxed and happy at the changes which is good.
Shame that taking VC means you have to take their guys with
the cash, this could have been avoided.

Would hate to see LC die, there is a place in the market for
them and they still have good people there who compliment
and support the OpenSource model.

No time today to make GLLUG meeting in London thanks to crap
British Rail and just too much work on plate. HantsLUG
meeting tomorrow also looks unlikely although I'll sit up
all night burning piles of CDs for them and getting their
OSDN packs ready.

Have spoken to Mark Lewis about setting up a UK LUG team
competition to increase the awareness of what is actually
achievable and and also to get public awareness of just how
much activity there is in the UK.
