While not perfect, nor particularly robust, it's been damn nice having my workstation truly multihomed and able to use both independent routes. <p> <p> <a href="http://muse.linuxmafia.org/gshield/" >gshield</a>, version 3, should be released Real Soon Now. Since I moved back to Virginia work on gShield has been slow, and I discovered this week that the former debian maintainer for gShield has not only orphaned the package, but actually urged against another maintainer taking it over. I would have preferred something a bit more constructive, but there you have it. I discovered a while back that gShield is included within Gentoo's package system, which was pleasing. Package system often -do- serve a vital function. <p> <p> Dissertation work is still in limbo -- damn hard to be able to get into the mental space I require to write.
