This looks ....different....

After getting a new hard drive (thinking that my current one is going to die (and it isn't *grunt*)), I've plugged it into my RAID array and hoped it would work. Wrong. The Linux 2.4.X series of ATARAID PDCRaid drivers don't seem to like either my chipset; or my configuration: RAID 1 (1x60GB; 1x120GB => a should-be 60GB array). Sadly it crashes, and dies. It *did* work before with a RAID 1 2x60GB array.

If anyone wants a stack trace; just ask; I'm more than delighted if anyone has any ideas. Unhandled NULL pointer reference if anyone wants to know. Only reason I can't debug it is that it seems to go far too deep; into the block device areas of the kernel; which I do not want to touch...

GPL/OpenSource+UK

I've finally decided and finalized some project details for a possible OpenSource/GPL Software/Unix support business I might (=> hopefully, would) start: I shall post more details when they are finalized, but essentially we would offer Unix support, OpenSource software support and modification (mainly PHP/Perl/... stuff, though) and build our own software, which of course, will be GPLed and free to all of you nice lovely people... If you're interested, mail me. (Just that there doesn't seem to be anything like this localized to the UK...)

Palm Coding

On the coding front, I've finally found a good, useful project: GPL software for the Palm(TM) Computing Platform: although the amount of software you get is limitless, hardly any is Open-Sourced. Additions will include a timer app (now in beta testing; mail if you want a beta) and other applications such as a word-processor (although that is currently undecided, for now). Ideas are more than welcome.

First Advogato post.

New Advogato Features

New HTML Parser: The long-awaited libxml2 based HTML parser code is live. It needs further work but already handles most markup better than the original parser.

Keep up with the latest Advogato features by reading the Advogato status blog.
