How was the CDD Devcamp

The CDD Devcamp happened in the same time that the II Free Software Congress of the Valencia Community, at Castellón City, Spain. The event, like the Congress, ocurred on May 5th and 6th, 2005 and received people from all important Custom Debian Distributions in the world, besides the people that attend to the event.

In only two days, we could analyze our entire technology of customization that is available inside Debian and discuss the possible ways to solve today's problems.

The main two results of the event are two propostals that are being developed to be discussed during the DebConf5 that will take place in Helsinki, Finland, in July of this year. The proposals aims to solve problems related with distribution updating, customized or not, with relation to configurations changes made by the users in configurations files using, or not, debconf.

Others improvements are also made, specially by the personal contact, it was possible to discuss lots of problems that we have on Debian nowadays and that will be detailed in the near future, possibly during DebConf5.

The event also gives some social results, not only technical ones, with the chance to get everybody involved in the development of Custom Debian Distributions together, with all certain, we will get more collaboration between everybody.

I'm back from II Free Software Festival of Bahia (in Brazil) and did a good time there.

I did a talk about CDD (Custom Debian Distributions) and also meet a lot of good people. :-)

The only bad thing there is the food (I didn't like) and the poor people living without good possibilities in same place where we have a lot of people wasting a lot of money :(

Well, long time since last post. Since last post I did a lot of things and forgot to post here these.

I got my patches for kernel and DAK both included in packages. Also did some other bugfixes in Debian bugs like Debian-BR-CDD project.

On profissional side, well, I did a lot of work to stabilize some things and fix pending issues here. I hope I can comment more about it near ;-)

I got DAK working on Debian-BR-CDD server. Now we are in a good shape for development. I also sent to Joerg, DAK mainatainer, a patch to add whitelist-mail support on it so it doesn't send mail to Debian people by mistake.
