Notes:
In the world of free software, I started out by writing a compiler for PolyJ, an extended version of Java with parameterized types.
After that, I worked on Parsely, a tool to help write backends for configuration tools^W^W^W^W^W^W^W^W a brilliant solution to a problem nobody actually seems to have.
Right now, I moonlight as lead developer of Mixminion, a Type III anonymous remailer, which recently had its 0.0.6.2 release.
(Less talk! More hack!)
Hacked up a 3-hour patch to make Python error messages more readable for newbies that haven't grasped case-sensitivity; posted it to comp.lang.python. I doubt it'll go through in its current form, but maybe it'll help the current flamewa^Wdiscussion about case-sensitivity get a little more constructive. I think it's a tribute to Python's simplicity that it's learnable even with error messages like "NameError: Foo". We can do better.
Oh, yeah- I cleaned my apartment too. My chinchillas are frolicing across their newly clean floor.
Next step: a real release and a better webpage for parsely.
