Committed a patch to change the colorization of the Debian website translation statistics.

Yesterday I went to see Millencolin, Longfellow, and Osker at the Glass House. Went in the pit a few times, but had to keep coming out to retie my shoes. I really need to buy boots, as Vans just aren't cutting it anymore. One month until Against All Authority comes to town.

The day before I went to Magic Mountain. It was the first time I'd been midweek and the lines were substantially shorter. Yippee!

Updated the host name checking code in the boot-floppies to look for RFC 1035 compliance (the only difference is that the names can be longer). I've heard rumors that there is a WIP specification which features non-ASCII characters, but I haven't been able to find it. If you know what it is, please let me know.

Submitted some minor fixes to GnuCash to fix a date entry problem and some documentation irritations.

Created a new Debian cdcd package, updating config.{guess, sub} so that it will (hopefully) build on hppa. Unfortunately, I can't figure out how to sneak FTP past my ISP's firewall, so I'll have to use sneakernet to upload it tomorrow.

Submitted a patch to fix bug #105364. With it, only RFC 608 compliant names will be accepted. I'd have committed it but I can't figure out how to sneak SSH past the firewall either.

Fixed a segfault in the boot-floppies ``Report a Problem'' step.

Added the ability to assign variables in the export and readonly builtins for the Minix shell included with BusyBox.

Made an ass of myself by misreading the dependencies of GnuCash.

Redirected email forwarding to the Los Angeles Free-Net. I'm now ready to cancel my old ISP. I'm so glad I have a permanent (or so I hope) forwarding service, so that when my ISP does something bad like switching to a different POP provider (with no local POPs) I don't have any qualms about switching.

Fixed a bug in BusyBox tar in which it segfaulted if BUFSIZ was too small (i.e., less than 512).

Went to Las Vegas this weekend. I hate casinos. The highlights of the weekend were having Thai food for lunch at Pin Kaow (I had the vegetable curry and spicy tofu) and swimming in the pool for a few hours. The lowlights were waiting for my friends to gamble and the five hour drive home.

Fixed a bug in BusyBox mount in which it had trouble mounting loopback files on read-only filesystems. The MS_RDONLY bit was being cleared instead of set after mount realized it wasn't going to be able to mount the filesystem read-write.

Eliminated an obsolete function, strdup_substr, from BusyBox.

Started writing an adventure-like front end to DebConf.

dhclient returns 0 even if it was unable to configure the interface, so I changed the boot-floppies to check whether the interface is up, rather than relying on this value.

Submitted fixes to a number of bugs in the Debian web pages. I'm not in the debwww group, so I couldn't update the scripts myself. Hopefully someone else will pick up the patches.

I also tested the latest set of woody boot-floppies. The clock was set incorrectly and tasksel wouldn't start. Cosmetically, debootstrap's progress messages are useless and the base-config introductory message contains a little white lie.

Investigated some boot-floppy problems.

Went to the Los Angeles instantiation of the Warped Tour, saw The Bouncing Souls, The Deviates, and Rancid play for the first time, helped break up a fight, tripped in the pit, and had my head slammed into the pavement, cutting my eyebrow. Bought a Rancid t-shirt. Went to the hospital and waited 2 hours and 15 minutes for 4 stitches.
