Hmm. It's been that long has it? heh, time to change that.

Code:
Not much has changed except that my Perl module UDPM has been obsoleted by UI::Dialog, which is now being used in the guadalinux distribution. Nice.
I've got a slew of Nautilus shell scripts that I'm currently packaging up and preparing for a release. They of course use UI::Dialog. I'll also be writing a tutorial for UI::Dialog using some of the Nautilus shell scripts as examples.

Life:
Lots of changes... getting divorced... moved back in with parents... god-father passes away... I write the poem Sadness... father has a massive heart attack and follows my god-father. Now the two of them are playing chess and laughing over some fine coffee and good memories somewhere in the here-after.

Golf:
I lost my slice and found my swing. Now to just maintain and improve it.

Work:
Open Door Software now sells a lot of Debian based distributions/live-cds as well as a few Free Software for Windows discs.

Games:
Neverwinter Nights blows my mind to this day (sure it's buggy and such but Bioware has done what others have failed to do... bring a DM into video games). Tiger Woods for the PS2 is wild. I'm considering buying a PS2 just to play the game with the rumble-gamepads.

I guess I should start off my diary with a little blurb about myself...

I'm a Free Software programmer and Linux enthusiast since 1998. I work for (and own a portion of) Open Door Software Inc. and have contributed a few pieces of code back to the global community. I live in Toronto, Canada.

First Computer: Vic20 (Thanks Mom & Dad)
Known Languages: Perl, C, Bash, C++

Code Contributions:

http://search.cpan.org/author/KCK/

ttp://freshmeat.net/projects/connmgr/

Two patches for the GNOME Zenity application. One to implement console support for the gdialog perl wrapper for zenity and another to have the user input gathered via zenity returned via STDOUT instead of STDERR.

Desktop Preferences:

Distro: Debian GNU/Linux Unstable

Desktop: Gnome

Apps: Emacs, Evolution, Galeon, OpenOffice.org, Totem, X-Chat and XMMS

Web Daemons: Apache, mod_perl and MySQL.

I'm a gamer at heart and have bought Tribes 2 and Quake 3 from (the now deceased) Loki. I've purchased Neverwinter Nights (and soon the expansion pack too) because Bioware chose to support Linux with their titles (and they're Canadian too). I'm also a monthly subscriber to Transgaming's Winex project and am an FSF Associate Member.
