Thinking about doing some fun stuff instead of writing and doing management things all the time. I wonder if I could get away with just being technical, I enjoy it a lot more and it's a whole lot less time consuming. However, would I be able to live up to my potential if I duck out on the management side of the house?

It would be neat to get a job, working nights, just working by myself on different SNMP management projects and showing the results at the end of the night. Then sleep all day, and watch some of my favorite series (Star Trek etc..) and back to work. I'd sure like that. :)

I'm working on some work stuff, finally getting some cool products rolled out for folks to play with. I'm really happy that I'm not having to fight the "open source is evil" stuff anymore, Linux seems to have come into it's own.

I wonder if Advogato is availible for installation... I think it would be interesting as a collaboration tool for projects.... we'll see.

At least Mandrake is working ok, nice smooth installs. Didn't like the E&S video cards, but found a nice G200 floating around. Works good, feels nice.

NT... bahahahaha... took me 15 minutes to install Mandrake, 15 minutes to download the patches. With NT it took me 4 hours to install the stuff, the SPs, and format a 30GB volume. Woo hoo...

Hmmm.. I doubt I have time to do this anymore. But that's OK... maybe in a couple of years? (Is this typing coming from the future???)

New Advogato Features

New HTML Parser: The long-awaited libxml2 based HTML parser code is live. It needs further work but already handles most markup better than the original parser.
