Blim. That's a long time between entries.

In that time I've been working on lots of closed source worky stuff, and not much else, unfortunatly.

I have got my website going nicely now.

Got a couple of ideas for things I want to write, which I will be sharing on the website as soon as I distill them into something sensible. These ideas have probably been done before, and better, but I want to do them anyway as a learning process and because you never know when you can do something better.

Anyway, i'll sign off now. Have a good winter festival, which ever one you subscribe to, and if you don't celebrate anything at all around this time of the year, then erm... have a nice month anyway.

Hi... quick update. I released (ahem) adslcheck. Vry small thing that 'themes' the BT ADSL Checker for use with your own site. Mail me if you'd like it.

Also fixed a bug and added a feature to someone else's open source script, which is to do with this and can be found here.

I'll be updating my notes in a bit with the new webcomics i'm reading now.

tut..
I'm all out of web comics again (by which i mean that i've run out of ones to read from beginning to end). Anyone who has any great suggests, please email. Thank's y'all....
slef: I agree that the phrase 'free software' is probably the best we have at the moment, but any marketing campaign that needs it's name explaining could have problems, in my opinion. 99% of people who aren't already active in Free software will connect 'free' with 'gratis' rather than 'libre', and if they need that explained, then they may very well 'switch off'. How do we get around this?

adslchecker:

It's done. Ish.

Take a look at this

feed back to jmb at paston dot co dot uk, if you like - source to be available when i've documented it, and not before ;-)

New Advogato Features

New HTML Parser: The long-awaited libxml2 based HTML parser code is live. It needs further work but already handles most markup better than the original parser.
