Figures, I was having a good week and today had to come and crap all over me.

Had some "discussions" and PnP devices, naming and devfs on linux-kernel. Sounds like everyone has come to the conclusion, devfsd (or possibly other daemon) as a device manager is a good idea. Just so you know, I implemented this over 1 week ago :)

More work on my USB devfs patches and devfsd support. So much work, so little time.

Worked on more non-specific Linux ia64 stuff.

Still enthusiastically anticipating this weekend.

Spent the majority of the day converting usbdevfs into using devfs and not creating it's own filesystem type. This also coincides with splitting out the endpoints/interfaces/configs into their own nodes.

Also managed to get involved in yet another devfs flame war on linux-kernel. I don't think I'll ever learn.

Kinda surprised to see people certifying me who I don't know :)

Except for Xach that is, he rules. BTW - I found multisort to be very useful to merge together the logs for AudiWorld. I just don't know why it uses so much CPU. Maybe it's the 70 log files from 1 months worth of traffic that's causing it grief.

Today brings more good news as AMD slaughtered their earnings predictions.

The end of this week promises to bring more good news, can't wait.

Lots of people seemed to be joing Advogato, so I figured I'd give it a whirl as well.

Today I worked on documenting some features of the Linux USB core that some people had questions about. I thought being documented in the USB specification was enough, but enough people were confused, that some comments couldn't hurt.

Spent some time trying to track down why my USB floppy doesn't work reliably. Turns out it may be a problem with the specific version I have. We'll see.

Also worked on dents a little bit today. Cleaned up some more code. Got some more minor bugs squished.

New Advogato Features

New HTML Parser: The long-awaited libxml2 based HTML parser code is live. It needs further work but already handles most markup better than the original parser.
