Notes:

I am interested in building collaboration infrastructure for OSS, scientific, and socially progressive communities. The "trust metric" is interesting and I'd like to talk to others about it, how and where to use it, what other things are needed, etc.

As a scientific programmer I've been developing free software for 20 years (Pssst - need a global climate model visualizer?). I'm afraid I havent done any linux-style projects, so I dont know anyone on this site. I am building a Java-based tech-support system that I hope will be useful to OSS projects (not released yet), but see the collaboration papers at my home page above for a "plausible vision".

I'd like to get certified so I can post. I promise to only post important, thought-provoking comments that are completely true. Well, maybe a _bit_ of my own thinking. All right, they will be slanderous and hopelessly opinionated. But still completely true (in a post_modern way, of course).

New Advogato Features

New HTML Parser: The long-awaited libxml2 based HTML parser code is live. It needs further work but already handles most markup better than the original parser.

Keep up with the latest Advogato features by reading the Advogato status blog.
