The Ohio LinuxFest is comming soon and we must be ready. Lack of blogging about it and other parts of my life have become limited I know. I guess I just needed a rest from everything to relax before I get back into the party full steam. A lot has to be done and I am now feeling up to the task to fix everything that has become broken in the past 6 months of doing nothing.

So I was sitting at work bored the other night. I, for some reason or another, started playing with my razr. I had installed an ssh client on it a long time ago and never got it to connect. While browsing the web I had noticed that Opera had a mini version for cell phones. Knowing that the current wap browser blew donkey nuts, I decided to give Opera Mini a try.

It is truly one of the best ways I have found to browse the wen on a cell phone. It can render normal, non-wap pages. It can even load images. Surprisingly, it is a lot faster then the normal text only wap browser. Opera also featured a option to enable small text which allows more to fill the small screen. That is the biggest seller for me. The next cool thing I found is that it has a page-up and down key via the joystick. I always did hate the browse by selecting the links to go up and down.

All in all, I am happy I had added the unlimited internet plan to my service cause I see myself using Opera Mini a lot in the future. Now I can keep up on all my news when I am on the road or at the bar. Probably more the latter then former.

Other then that, went to New York City this past weekend. Had a good time. Me and the sister went up to just hang out and relax. All in all was a good trip.

So long time I know. For those of you out there who celebrate, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

I have been busy last month and a half with work. As many know, I work for UPS and mid-Nov. to Dec. get pretty hairy at that place.

Back in school this quarter full time. I am determined to get this over with and get into the field most here in cyberspace know I want to be in. Looks like my days of hacking are going to have to wait tho. This week alone I have spent 6 hours a day in the books, 8 hours at work and the remainder in bed or wasting on tv/ps2. Back to college life again. Least I am not eating ramen again.

Sunday I will be in Wellington Ohio for a 20 team paintball tournament. I am hoping to get pictures and video of the event and hope to post those somewhere are the net for all to see. It looks as if our local team has a good chance to win $1000 as long as I carry the team ;) At any rate, will be fun and those who know me know paintball is the only stress relief I have left.

GO STEELERS!!!

The holiday season is here. Seems to me like we just finished up last year. Man the years are starting to fly by fast. Got a decent deal on a Sirius receiver at Best Buy this weekend. So far I like it and it integrates in the car and at home pretty well. Now all I need to do is figure out how I want to integrate the ipod into the car system. Can you say Wired Car? Soon we will be able to find affordable solutions to having internet in the car. It is only a matter of time.

Spent most of my time the last few weeks working on the car. Between tires, coolant leaks, and bad alternators the thing has had soon good work done on it. She is running good now tho and I feel like she will make the winter ok. All I have left that is not a need now situation, but a I want to do it just to get it done, is replace the front brakes and rotors and bleed the lines. Suppose to be decent temp. wise Monday so maybe then.

Been working on the desktop backing up data so that I could set the two sata 160gb hard drives into a Raid0 array. I cant install Ubuntu using d-i because of dmraid. I have to use the live cd to go in and install dmraid to access the drives in the raid then bootstrap it. There has been some talk recently about putting dmraid into the d-i so that it works out of the box. Maybe that is something I would like to get into. Currently I have grub installed and placed dmraid scripts in the initramfs. Now I just have to solve why it can not find init. Looks like it is not able to mount / and /dev off the cuff. More time pending, I will play around with it and make notes if need be then turn that around into the d-i stuff in debian.

Busy busy busy! Was on vacation last week and spent most if not all that time just relaxing with friends and family. Went up to New York City last weekend and had a good time. We went up there to visit colleges for my sister who plans to move up there after she graduates High School this year. Will post pictures and videos later on.

Probably will be silent the next two weeks as work needs me there for almost 12 hours each day. It will be nice in the money factor, but not so much in the fun factor. Hopefully once that is said and done, Bryan will have most of the Coaster stuff done for me to start munching on.

Back home from Boston. I tried to post and entry last night but the wifi at Logan Airport was horrid. All I could really do was get irc working. I paid $8 for that shit too.

Anyway, my flight was delayed for 2 hours do to some radar issue. I was scheduled to board around 7:30. Didn't get on till 9:30 which put in in at like 11:30 making me late for work. If I would have know about the delay I would have went downtown and looked around for awhile. Oh well.

I did manage to copy pictures from my camera to the server while at the airport. Here is the link. Some did not turn out very well and some are pretty nice.

I did have a good time seeing everyone and thank all of those who extended their warm welcome to Boston. Great to drink beers with everyone and just shoot the shit about anything. Hopefully I will get out to see everyone at the next event like GUADEC or even the Summit again.

Sitting here in Boston at the Gnome Summit. Listening to the Banshee talk and trying to get wireless to work right. My dwl-g122 acts wierd in ndiswrapper and locks up my laptop every now and again.

Sitting in the Airport waiting to depart to Boston for the Summit. I am excited to see everyone in one room. Wireless was a bit crazy here as it would not connect with wpa_supplicant being enabled. Seems that ndiswrapper also hates when you disable wps_supplicant after you plug the wifi in...oh well. Everything should work in boston no problem.

Laptop preped...bag packed. Off to work then to catch my plane to Boston for the Gnome Summit.

See you all there!

Ok...I lied. I am going to Boston for the Gnome Summit. It is gonna kick ass. Gotta pack now and be ready to catch my flight at 6:30AM Saturday morning right after work. Just have to make sure to take the directions for the T with me.

See everyone in Boston!
