These days, I mostly hack on Mercurial. I implemented the tag cache in Mercurial 1.4 and have fixed a number of bugs. In past times, I made a number of contributions to the Python standard library, notably as lead developer of the distutils suite. I also wrote the modules optparse and textwrap, and beat linuxaudiodev into shape by turning it into ossaudiodev. Long, long ago, I was a Perl hacker, and you can still find my ancient crufty modules on CPAN under "GWARD".

New HTML Parser: The long-awaited libxml2 based HTML parser code is live. It needs further work but already handles most markup better than the original parser.
