I havn't written in my diary entry in a while but something prompted me to...
I'm really sick of people questioning Linus' position and power!!!
Yes Linus is powerful and influential to gnu/linux, but can we all remember this is HIS kernel. He was nice enough to embrace the hacker spirit and let us all get involved. IBM and Compaq do not need to use his kernel, they can develop their own non gnu/linux kernel. How could people even say he should give way to a committee? Kernel developement has been excellent and 2.4 in some ways is revolutionary. Committes are slow, bloated and filled with political clout... Linus is an excellent engineer and a great leader. I for one would just like to thank him for sharing.
