Notes: I work on the Apache XML's FOP project (http://xml.apache.org/fop/) and am a frequent committer. Typography isn't particularly glamourous, so I'm probably doomed to Observer status for all eternity. Oh well. At least I've reserved my nick. A few of us thought we should send scouts here to Advogato, so I was elected. :) I also send patches to PenguinBackup and a few miscellaneous tools I use. I've been playing with Piper (http://www.bioinformatics.org/piper/ ) and python and have started to contribute. They're very welcoming folks! Check it out! -Steve

I learned python recently, and I'm quite impressed. I'm used to C/C++/Java being for "real" stuff, and my perl, VB,
javascript being glue/toys/convenience tools. Python is quite viable for "real" applications.
XML Apache is cool.
Piper is cool.
Folding@home is cool.
I haven't actually contributed anything to the last one except processor time.

FOAF updates: Trust rankings are now exported, making the data available to other users and websites. An external FOAF URI has been added, allowing users to link to an additional FOAF file.
