Notes:

I'm working on integrating the FreeType library into the Ghostscript graphics library. I wrote the PCF driver of the FreeType library; a BDF driver is available too.

In real life, I am a PhD student in Computer Science studying semantics of concurrency.

The BDF driver for the FreeType library I promised log time ago is finally available. Now I need another free project (weekends are gray in Paris during winter)... maybe a good Type1 hinter?

I have just released a PCF driver for the FreeType library. BDF will follow shortly.

gsft-0.0.2.fix2 is out.

Currently, gsft is believed to work on Gnu/Linux/x86, SunOs 5.6/Sparc, and Linux/Alpha (in my lab there are no other machines, sigh).

gsft-0.0.2.fix1 is out. Now gsft works fine also on SunOs 5.6/Sparc.

gsft-0.0.2 is out.

This patch modifies Ghostscript to invoke the FreeType2 scan-line converter in order to fill paths generated from interpreting and hinting Type1 fonts. Both monochrome and anti-aliased FreeType2 scan converters have been integrated.

Text readability on low-resolution devices is greatly increased. It is a preliminary alpha version and it works fine: use at your own risk.
