Notes:
I have founded a few open source projects, mostly related to the Web: Apache httpd, libwww-perl, wwwstat, and MOMspider. I also contributed to many of the early WWW software projects (NCSA httpd, Mosaic, etc.) and the IETF standards related to the Web, particularly as author of the HTTP and URI standards. I am chief scientist at Day Software and chairman of the Apache Software Foundation. I also have a Ph.D. in Information and Computer Science from the University of California, Irvine. I believe that the quality of an open-source software development project is defined by the strength of the community of developers collaborating on the project rather than some property of the source code at any instant in time. Life is change.
