Well.. I haven't updated my diary in a while but here it is! After a couple of months of development, I've finally managed to get GNUMail.app and Pantomime 1.1.0pre1 out.

Here is a small list of what has changed since the last release of GNUMail.app:

  • Reworked Preferences panel (now has a Standard / Expert views)
  • Now uses the OS X 10.2 Address Book by default under OS X and better auto-completion support when composing new mails under OS X and GNUstep
  • Added DnD support for attachments in the compose window
  • New Console (Window->Console) and new multi-threading code
  • Better OS X integration (using sheets, spell checking, etc)
  • New About panel
  • Better PGP support
  • Lots of other features, bug fixes and refactorings

You can download GNUMail.app 1.1.0pre1 from:

Here is a small list of what has changed since the last release of Pantomime:

  • Nearly entirely rewritten IMAP support (now faster, more stable, handles disconnection from the server and more)
  • Added SMTP over SSL support
  • Added maildir support
  • Fixed the CRAM-MD5 SMTP code
  • Initial message threading support
  • Lots of bug fixes and refactorings

You can download Pantomime 1.1.0pre1 from:

I'm now working on 1.1.0pre2 which should be released in a matter of weeks (2 to 4). I plan to enhance even more the IMAP support (non-blocking download for big attachments), optimize the caching code and offer even better OS X integration.

Thanks!

Hi!

It has been a little while since I wrote a diary entry. Today I've finally released GNUMail.app 1.0.3 and Pantomime 1.0.5.

GNUMail.app 1.0.3 provides major feature enhancements over the last release like PGP/GPG support, the possibility to reuse a mail window when opening a folder, the possibility to view a message in a separate window when double-clicking on it and more.

You can get GNUMail.app here and Pantomime here.

Humm.. this has been a long time since I haven't updated my diary. Sorry about that.

Well, the good news are the I've finally managed to get some time to work on the GPG / PGP bundle for GNUMail.app. I've commited the first version of the bundle last night.

If things progress the way I want in the following days, I should be able to release a new version of both GNUMail.app and Pantomime over the weekend.

Thanks.

Hi!

This has been quite a long and productive weekend for me. I've almost finished everything I had to do for the next release of GNUMail.app.

The only real thing remaining that I need to work on is the PGP/GPG support. The bundle is shaping up quite nicely and everything will be integrated (for sure, and finally!) in the next release.

Thanks!

Hi!

After weeks of efforts, I'm glad to announce the release of GNUMail.app 1.0.2 and Pantomime 1.0.4.

You can see a screenshot of GNUMail.app running under Linux/GNUstep here and under Apple Mac OS X here.

Today I've released PlopFolio.

PlopFolio is a clone of Serence's excellent KlipFolio application. It is written in Objective-C and uses GNUstep/Cocoa (so it works on Apple Mac OS X, Linux and stuff). PlopFolio supports Klips (RDF "news channels") available from KlipFarm.

You can see a screenshot of PlopFolio here.

Also, GNUMail.app 1.0.2/Pantomime 1.0.4 should be out tomorrow or on monday. I'll write more about this once I release them...

Hi!

Today I've released Pantomime 1.0.3 and GNUMail.app 1.0.1! This is a major release.

You can read more about the Pantomime release here and about the GNUMail.app release here.

Also, you can see a screenshot of GNUMail.app 1.0.1 under GNUstep and under Mac OS X

Hi!

Today I've released a new version of Affiche. You can see a screenshot of the new release here.

Thanks!

I've just sent a little status E-Mail for GNUMail.app / Pantomime on the GNUstep list. Here's the E-Mail:

Hi,

Since I'll surely release GNUMail.app 1.0.1 and Pantomime 1.0.3 when GNUstep GUI 0.7.7 is released, I write this little E-Mail to at least give you a status of what's going on.

Here's what has been added to GNUMail.app / Pantomime in the past days (everything is on CVS):

a) IMAP subscription support. It's now possible to subscribe and unsubscribe to IMAP folders. It's also now possible to create, delete or rename IMAP folders. You can also now copy or move messages between local and IMAP folders ;

b) DnD support. You can now use drag and drop to copy or move messages between mailboxes ;

c) copy/cut & paste support for messages. You can now use standard copy, cut and paste operations to copy or move messages between mailboxes ;

d) SSL support. You can now use POP3 or IMAP over SSL. To use this, you must install the Pantomime SSL bundle. Simply do: cd Pantomime/Bundles/SSL; make; make install ;

e) A skeleton of the PGP bundle for GNUMail.app has been added. It needs more work and it seems that I'm gonna work on this afterall in the following days :-) ;

f) Pantomime has been improved a lot in performance, mainly with the charset detection algo, the format=flowed code and also all TCP related operations. Also, iconv support was added in order to support more encodings ;

g) It's now possible to verify for new messages on your POP3 accounts (the ones you want to) when GNUMail.app starts ;

h) It's now possible to specify filters for outgoing mails and also apply filters directly to a messages selection ;

i) It's now possible to specify which charset you want to use when sending a message (if you don't want to use the 'detected' one) ;

j) Some icons have been replaced by better ones (IMO).

Also, I've refactored a lot of code and fixed bugs.

You can see a screenshot of GNUMail.app using IMAP over SSL, showing the new icons, here:

http://www.collaboration-world.com/gnumail/imap-ssl.gif

It would be nice if people could give a try to the CVS version of GNUMail.app and Pantomime - in order to release a very stable 1.0.1 version.

Feedback and contributions are always welcome.

Hi. I'm slowly preparing the 1.0.1 release of GNUMail.app and also the 1.0.3 release of Pantomime. The main enhancement over the current release is going to be related to IMAP support. The upcoming release will have IMAP folder subscription support and more. I also added in the past days iconv support to Pantomime. Everything is progressing so well, thanks to the power of GNUstep/Cocoa/Objective-C!
