Notes: Report bugs when you see them. I don't think people generally realize until they produce software that the bug they are about to report may just be a bug that everyone will have. The author might not even be aware of it. Feel free to also e-mail the authors of your favorite software giving a warm fuzzy note as to why you like their software.
Want to try out ipv6? Look at http://www.freenet6.net/ to get one ip address or 2^16 subnets with 2^64 ip address each (or 2^80 ip address total). 1,208,925,819,614,629,174,706,176 if you like really large numbers. I'm on ipv6 with a subnet although I'm only using between 2 and 4 ip addresses at a time.
I live with an on-demand internet connection. It is on when I want it to be. You can get to my web server that is ipv6 only at http://spacedout.fries.net/~david/, if you can get there you're on ipv6, if you can't, either you aren't on ipv6 or I'm just not online.

I posed it at 8:58pm yesterday (12-08-2002), my first hit from slashdot came at 9:22pm, 24 minutes after I posted it, which surprised me. There were six more hits before the day ended. Unlike advogato, slashdot doesn't have a page listing the most recent journal entries. The only notification I know of on slashdot is if someone lists you as a friend, and one of the hits was one of my friends. Since it was also my first journal entry on slashdot I don't have people frequently checking to see when I update my entry. I did post two comments yesterday to two different slashdot stories, previously October was the last time I posted any comments.
I think that says a little about how many people wander around slashdot. Advogato I could understand, a link to this entry will be on the main page, but slashdot? I had two comments out of 254 for only two of the days stories. I counted a total of three links from the main slashdot page to even get to my journal.

It would appear that value just needs to be left out of the select menu form.
It is always nice when you update your project, put out a freshmeat.net notice, and then your hosting site notices its IPs just changed.
