COMDEX down, CES to go... Hopefully, CES will be a little less hectic -- not likely though. Things have actually slowed down, but I had to cancel a 9- mo. planned vacation to Vegas to do so. Sucks.

The upside was that I did get to spend time in Vegas at COMDEX (thus hanging out with the extremely cool Helix Code dudes), even though I didn't have any fun b/c I thought I was going back in two weeks...now I get to go again for CES, albeit without my wife, and to spend 14-hr days in a booth.

On the bright side, the payoff is getting to go to Deutschland for CeBit later next year...

...maybe I'll rent a BMW and tour the AutoBahn...

Ah...another year, another COMDEX. This one showed more evolutionary technology than revolutionary. I liked the focus on wireless, and the "connected home" though.

I hung out with some rad guys from Helix Code, and hopefully we should be collaborating soon on some really neat stuff.

Ah...my cable modem is fixed again. Seems that AT&T got it's wires crossed (pun intended) and thought I was stealing cable modem service and disconnected me. Since I AM a paying customer, they hooked me back up and are not charging me for downtime. I like that...

22Mbps downstream is cool...

A weekend without ever being in front of a computer -- a rarity for me as of late.

It's amazing how many in-roads Linux is making into the embedded device market.

Between Linux on OS/390 and Linux on the Yopi, a "Linux Everywhere" attitude is starting to make sense.
