So today, I begin work on making KnowPost.com open source technology.

Its really quite exciting. I've worked years on fine tuning it and such, and making a dent in the universe by allowing people to share knowledge with one another. Now, its time to allow anybody to use our source, and create knowledge exchanges of their own.

Its really good technology too, especially for the open source groups-- it converts users into evangelists rather easily, and makes people connect around you, and your software. I think this will create a new era of support channels for open source technology.

KnowPost is very similar (but more horizontal in content on our site) to QuestionExchange. Its sort of a faq-o-matic kind of thing, except its more game-like. I invite you all to check it out.

This means, for open source folks, that you'll be able to create really fantastic technical support forums. It means, for us, being unable to survive as a viable commercial entity, that we finally get to do what our investors didn't want us to do-- let everybody have what we've made.

There's lots of things possible, and I think that this is just the start of something fantastic for the open source world. Lets see what happens next.
