Notes:

I'm a computer scientist with about 20 years background in Unix. I've worked on operating systems, parallel computers, compilers, and other sundry stuff.

I've been using Linux since May 1994. In fact, I bought my first personal computer after seeing Linux demoed by a friend and realizing the hardware wasn't the real problem with PCs (at least from a workstation perspective).

I haven't been heavily involved in an open-source project, but I've contributed several patches to various projects whenever I've looked at the source and found something wanting. (Including one half-line bug fix to the Linux kernel.)

When teaching, my strong preference is to use Linux/Unix so I can explain why things happen.

New Advogato Features

New HTML Parser: The long-awaited libxml2 based HTML parser code is live. It needs further work but already handles most markup better than the original parser.

Keep up with the latest Advogato features by reading the Advogato status blog.

If you're a C programmer with some spare time, take a look at the mod_virgule project page and help us with one of the tasks on the ToDo list!
