Notes:

Co-founder of the Giftfile Project, enabling a sustainable economy for nonproprietary works. The best starting point for the type of person that might visit this page is Free Software Hacker's Introduction to the Giftfile System. I've done a lot of technical work for this project, including design of the client-server protocol and implementation of the reference server.

Co-founder of Electronic Gift Economies, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit chartered to encourage and support nonproprietary works. This is something like SPI, Inc., except that SPI is specific to free software, while EGE covers all types of nonproprietary works including free literature, music, etc.

Founder and admin of lua-users.org, home to the Lua programming language community.

Official Debian developer.

Maintainer of the toshiba_acpi driver in the Linux kernel, and expert about running GNU/Linux on Toshiba Libretto laptops.

New Advogato Features

New HTML Parser: The long-awaited libxml2 based HTML parser code is live. It needs further work but already handles most markup better than the original parser.

Keep up with the latest Advogato features by reading the Advogato status blog.

If you're a C programmer with some spare time, take a look at the mod_virgule project page and help us with one of the tasks on the ToDo list!
