I fired up my old junkie computers from basement. The one hardware enclosure I ordered from Canada and later installed DEC Unix is still humming... The first laptop I bought in 1995(?) is a Montego Fujitsu laptop for over $2000 + $200 for extra 8M RAM. I forgot when I bought an extra battery. I can replace the floppy disk module with two battery. It runs RedHat 6.2 Zoot. Last login Feb 6, 2006.

I'm reading this old diary on project management endorsed by nixnut.

"only people who have extremely good memories and are not overloaded with work or spam are capable of successfully utilising email for communications of complex issues. "

I don't think I am quite agree with that. Yes, it is very hard to transport one's state of mind to another. To design a complex AI system, it is always going to be modulated by somewhat uneven human intelligence.

It's been a year. I feel more or less alive.

I'd like to tour Spain in memory of Walter Benjamin's leaving of this world.

I also would like to buy up more property in US. War and Peace, it's never ending...

trying to wrap my mind around Prof. Foster's paper and catch-words:'alpha spending, alpha investing, Bonferroni method, FDR, mFDR, FWER', drawing my own idea expressed in this article critical examination of recruitment/promotion process. A creative person should initiate many human interactions in workplace to control his own mFDR, and not to be dragged or drugged into any delusional 'self-righteous' paths.

thanks for posting Kipling's lullaby

"In the spring of 1877, Alice returned from India and removed the children from Lorne Lodge. Kipling remembers, "Often and often afterwards, the beloved Aunt would ask me why I had never told any one how I was being treated. Children tell little more than animals, for what comes to them they accept as eternally established. Also, badly-treated children have a clear notion of what they are likely to get if they betray the secrets of a prison-house before they are clear of it".

God bless the child, not to become Lord of the Flies
