No mood for badminton. I dunno why, I played less than an hour and it wasn't fun as fun as usual. Infact, something was wrong not only for badminton, because I felt bored until lately. That's because with Liz, I tried out one sushi-bar in Paderborn. Not too bad. As a matter of fact, it was great. The desert was unforgettable, green-tea flavored ice cream. For first few seconds, I felt like Legolas (although Liz said that the taste could be stronger).

Another good thing, I had the ticket to Karlsruhe already. A nice friend of mine, Sandy, managed to get it for good price. For sure, we'll be in LinuxTag within days.

So now weekly I play badminton. I am such a bad player, but nevertheless I can have chances to improve. Not to mention that I can make new friends and practice my German. O yeah, bilyard is also quickly getting more and more fun. For relaxing a little bit in the afternoon, it is really worth (and not too expensive as well). My other plan: try every single restaurant (Chinese, Greek, whatever) in Paderborn !

Order of Phoenix was out and I quickly bought it. I finished it in 5 days, during night only. I was very tired, though, because when the whole day is spent on research and the whole night for Hogwarts, that makes little room for sleep, let alone rest well.

KOffice is approaching release. There are many fundamentals things in KSpread that I didn't have chance to fix and improve. Okay, KSpread 1.3 could be better but current state is not too bad at all. Too bad that when I decide to co-maintain it with Laurent, my time becomes more limited because of the load of my research work. Can't wait for KSpread 1.4 (or 2.0?) hacking again.

I found some little spare time to think about Sidewinder. That's a code-name for my small portable 100%-C++ library for building spreadsheet, covering an entirely new object-model (Cell, Format, Sheet, Workbook, and so on) and Excel workbook loader. This will surely serve as my playground for improving internals of KSpread. It is portable, I work on it conveniently both in Windows and Linux. When someday Sidewinder reaches usable state, at least it can form a more stable and hassle-free Excel import filter for KSpread. The Excel part follows HSSF style of record-based parsing. This will allow room for Excel exporter, someday when I have enough time and motivation. Help is warmly welcomed. Of course you can always choose to ignore all this crap^h^h^h^hvapourware.

LinuxTag 2003 is due within weeks. Let's get rock.

Movie Two Towers was amazing. One of my only disappointment is how the story differs than in the book. This time, the difference is even greater compared to Fellowship.

Book On my short visit to Paderborn, I have obtained an English copy of Return of The King. That said, practically I have finished Lord of The Ring.

Study Soon I will be in Uni Paderborn to continue my study. Hey, they have a wonderful towercam !</i></i>

Movie "Die Another Day" is another movie just for entertaining.

Book I recently read "Passenger to Frankfurt"e; and felt that it's just not like the usual Agatha Christie's book.

Desktop Yes, I'm almost, quite close, ready to switch to KDE 3.1

Movie "Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secret" is great. Too bad that some scenes are apparently different from the book. I can't wait for "Prisoner of Azkaban" !

RTF. I finally found my time to work on RTF filter for KWord. Looks really good and useful to give me more insight about document formats.

Quenya. Well, it's just amazing. Sadly enough I do really lack of time to learn it.

English isn't easy. Anyhow, good that I still can reach a score of 606 in my recent TOEFL. I'll be very happy if someday I could ever know Quenya as good as English :-P

OOP in C isn't too bad at all. I'm in the middle of rewriting small project in C (formerly C++ of course) because the target system might only have working C compiler. Quite interesting, although I'm forced to be so careful regarding memory leaks. I wonder how they can manage millions line of C code in GNOME...

DivX under Linux is just amazing. I can get it working on Celeron-350, for simple video (and they claimed you need PII-450). It's not that trivial but also couldn't considered pain: just grab Xine or MPlayer, configure, make, make install, and you're ready to go. And yet I got smooth full-screen with GeForce2. Without hassle.

WordPerfect stuff. It's not getting easier. WordPerfect 5.x export filter for KWord still produces nasty bugs, albeit WP 6 or 7 is just fine. Hopefull I can managed this quickly since KWord 1.2 should to be able to save and load most WordPerfect documents.
