Notes:
I am studying Mathematics (trying to transfer for Computer Science right now) at UESB and I am the System Administrator of SST Internet, a small ISP located in Jequié, BA, Brazil. Besides my job at SST Internet I work as free lancer for a number of other sites. My jobs varies from instalation and configuration of qmail, djbdns, daemontools and ucspi-tcp packages to investigate and determine security issues.
I am using Slackware GNU/Linux since 1993. I spend part of my free time playing a bit with machines running OpenBSD, FreeBSD, OS/2, FreeDOS, Novell Netware and Window$.
I advocate the use of free software and most of my contributions to the Free Software community has been in the form of translations and small patches to correct bugs.
My course transfer to Computer Science was accept. Time to get a bottle of wine and celebrate.
Boy! A lot of time passed since my last diary update.
Today I spent most of the time updating the Brazilian Portuguese translation of IMP.
Played a lot with OpenLDAP and nssldap, browse the source code of nssldap and changed some sections to fit my needs. To me nssldap seems like a very interesting solution to store machine information in a distributed manner.
"Ogged" some of my CDs to test the quality when compared with MP3. The result was a better quality audio file using bit rates greater than the ones used in MP3 but with same file size. Not bad :-)
02:25am BRT over here... I can hear my bed calling me.
Nothing new this morning. I am planning to seat and watching some tv with my daughters just to enjoy my last day of vacations. Monday my classes of Mathematics restarts.
