Blah. Another wasted evening trying to squeeze some more performance out of libmpeg2. Nothing sucks more than reverting three hours of hacking after discovering it makes absolutely no difference to the performance. I blame the pitifully small cache on the celeron. I'd like to meet the Intel engineer who said that a 16 kB cache would be fine in for a 1998 cpu. Grrr.

On the brighter side, I'm no longer a corporate drone. As of the start of July, I'll be a Modem Hacker for Soma Networks instead. One of the best features of working for Soma is that they like to stick their offices downtown. The Ottawa office is going to be right in the heart of the market. Yay, I get to rollerblade to work.
